Ever heard of the saying that good things come in small packages? This Italian restaurant probably took that saying too literally when they were designing their venue.
Before I get in to their food, let me first describe the restaurant itself. The restaurant is leasing 1 space at the ground floor of an apartment complex and uses the front as a BBQ area and for additional seating as an outdoor terrace. The interior uses a great space saving design by arranging some of the tables in a bunk bed style fashion where there are 2 levels in the same area. By doing so, it inherently gives the space a cozy setting which is perfect for couples to have a romantic dinner. No need to fret, for those who cannot endure tatami style seating or want to plan their next hail & farewell party, they also have regular seating areas at the back.
The food is Italian/French-Asian fusion and I would say the price is decent for its serving sizes. I had the lamb chops while my wife had the salad and risotto. The salad and risotto was justified by its quantity but for my lamb chops, well, you know your dish is on the pricy side when you see that they’ve decorated the sauce with a paint brush, but still not that bad because the taste more than makes up for it. For the grand finale, let’s talk desserts. We had the ‘Ice Gratin: The Magic Sweet’ dessert which is interesting because it’s ice cream that they light on fire! Obviously, it is recommended for you to wait for the fire to die down but if you want a unique experience, try to taste a bit of it with the flame. All in all it cost about roughly 5,000 yen for the both of us. The restaurant is located in Takahara at Okinawa city along route 329 and is open from 6pm-2am daily.
